Ritual and Ceremony. What is the difference? Thinking concentrically, moving from yourself, through your family, and beyond, find the words to describe what ritual or ceremony accomplish. Share your experiences and thoughts. Are there any emotions evoked as you discuss this? Parse out why?
Exploratory
Take a simple act, crossing the room to reach a place to begin an activity. Vary movement quality, tempo, gaze. Vary gestures, ritual movement, set up. Vary musical accompaniment, intent, mood, goal. Vary the number of bodies doing the movement you develop. See what develops, study how each incarnation makes you feel. Discuss.
