Social Dance Mechanics Through Blues Dance class with Miles Firkins on 9/28/22

Peer class with Miles is Wednesday 9/28 at 6:30pm at Studio Sway. For now, class sizes are limited for COVID-19 safety, so please register the Monday before class through the link in the event on the Peer Class Page.

Though all partnered social dances have unique music, forms, frames, and flourishes, they all depend on the interplay of the same two dancing roles, a lead and a follow. Using blues dance as a base, this class will peel apart the tasks of each role, explore the space between them, and investigate the ways they countersupport each other. Whether you have a favorite form and lots of partner dance experience, mostly dance with people you know in your kitchen at home, or are completely new to social dance, this class will give you plenty of strategies to have more successful and enjoyable social dance experiences
