Thoughts and Ideas 10/31
CONVERSATION Starter
Image Clusters. Context. Visualize one image, a yellow finch on a branch. Now add an unrelated image, a school house with children playing. Now add a third unrelated image, a chemical plant. Notice how your thoughts changed, were influenced by the presence of each extra item. What other senses can skew your perspective, emotions, and thus reactions? Talk about a memory where you had a strong reaction. Analyze which clusters; sensory, emotional, memory, may have influenced the main event. Discuss ways to use this idea in creating performance.
Exploratory
Create and imagine an image cluster with dance. Use two or more dancers. Pull out your dancer's toolbox. Work with either the same choreography, but with different imagery, timing, emotion, etc,... or varied improv responses to a central subject... or put completely different unrelated movement sequences side by side and observe what happens. Dare to explore and discuss.
