Artist Spotlight: Molly Fisher

Presenting Molly Fisher, another artist in our ADC Artist Spotlight series!

ABQ Dance Connect started an Artist Spotlight Series to feature dancers, movers, and creators in Albuquerque. This series is aimed to introduce and connect artists to their ABQ community. If you are interested in being a part of this series, please email info@abqdanceconnect.org or DM ABQ Dance Connect for more information.

Molly was born in Albuquerque, NM, and has lived here for most of her life. At 17 after always wanting to be a dancer, she fell in love with belly dance and its slinky and dramatic movement style. Shortly after turning 18, she got involved with the local roller derby team where she discovered that can be had moving at high speeds and the ever-present risk of a crash. After years of jumping between artistic and athletic endeavors, she was persuaded to try pole dance in 2017. She knew immediately that pole was the perfect thing for her. it combines beautiful, controlled dance movements, and the sometimes uncomfortable, and scary but always exciting experience of leaving the ground behind. Her favorite thing about pole is the variety of dance styles and the constantly changing and evolving nature of pole dancing. She loves being able to give her students room to express themselves and watching their confidence grow. Molly is currently getting her MSW from NMSU, and she hopes to explore the intersection between expressive movement and healing.
