Thoughts and Ideas 1/31

Conversation Starter

Stage orientation. How would you adapt your movements/choreography if you were performing in the round? And if the audience was in the center, what then? Discuss novel ways of placing your audience for inventive site specific performances.

Creative Experiment

Sensory movement prompts. Sound - close your eyes. Isolate three sounds. Translate the differences to movement quality, and move. Touch/tactile - eyes closed, provide three variations on touch using pressure, or objects with different textures, against your skin. Again, translate these to movement quality and move. Continue to explore simple prompts with these and other senses; sight, taste, smell, proprioceptive and kinesthetic, trying to isolate one aspect at a time within each sense.
