Second Week of May Thoughts

Second Week of May (already!)

Ideas to Keep You in the Groove

Creative - change your groove. Make a short movement phrase, 8cts, or even one movement. Find how many ways you can change it without substitution. i.e. accent all the odd counts, then all the even counts. Insert pauses. Change the phrasing. Change the destination, or direction. Reverse. Create dynamic range, how small can you make it, how large? How loud, how soft? How little energy, how much energy? I could go on and on, but I'm rationing.

In need of humor? - Check out "Headliners 505" on Facebook which offers a comedy night called "Quarantine Komedy Friends" streaming on Facebook, filmed in the Tricklock Performance Lab.

A thought "Out of the Box" - I am picturing a sports field, a large park, a meadow. A grid has been created of chalk or cording resulting in 6'x6' squares. Dancers are placed in every other square and must figure out a way to dance with one 6x6 box of separation between them, they may change squares but only with pre-arranged planning or nonverbal agreement...... Incubate that idea.

Feeling Melancholy - a simple act of kindness for another.

Ready, set, .... GO! Remember: we are out there, we care, you count!
