Calendar for Virtual Classes & First Week of May Ideas

Are you offering virtual classes to the public? Would you like more visibility?

We’re compiling a calendar of virtual classes being offered by Dance Connect folk to help build visibility for your classes and keep our local dance community connected. Send what you’re teaching, when, and which platform, and how to access your class, and we’ll add you to the calendar on our website.

Send your classes to website@abqdanceconnect.org attn. Miles.

First Week of May Ideas to Keep You in the Groove

Creative - Observation. Go to a park or parking lot where a business is open. Observe a group of people, jot down all the gestures and interactions you see, every repeatable movement. Create a story. Play with these movements later. Repeat the exercise but only write down the interesting gestures and actions. Look for what is absent, look for what is present, what is unique to these pandemic times. You have just generated material for choreography.

Non-virus news - Scam of the week! Watch out for large deposits into your bank account from Venmo, Paypal, or ApplePay. This is not real money in your account! When alerted to the "mistake", do not send "their" money back. The transaction could be canceled on their end if it was real.

Unemployment System Tips from the  Sunday Albuquerque Journal - File weekly certifications. Phone only call if you can't get answers through the Questions page, YouTube video or Chat Bot. Mondays are the busiest day for calling. If you have a source of income more than $461 per week, than you cannot qualify for State unemployment and the $600 a week Cares Act benefit. Be kind to anyone you reach on the phone. Many are newly added and trained  and many are working overtime.
