CONVERSATION Starter
Contrast. Focal length. Perspective. Talk about the ways your perspective gets altered by the juxtaposition of elements surrounding an event or thought, in either time or field of view. How does something that seemed like the main focus become lesser or bigger when contrasted with another element or event.
Creative Experiment
Try a dance experiment involving contrast or focal length using several ideas: Make a meaningful phrase of movement. Move the content to a dramatically different location, a small space or endless space; have another dancer(s) present, doing a very different dance theme or with an entirely different energy, or perhaps not even dancing - acting, talking, chores; sequence a series of very different movements that re-frame the previous theme. Play with your own ideas, experiment and explore the concept.
Escape and Inspiration
Dance, Music, and Art: Celebrate Disability Artistry during Disability Pride Month. At North Fourth Theater, July 8th at 2pm attend a performance of dance and music pieces featuring multi-abled artists. Lobby open at 1pm to feature visual arts and organizations serving people with disabilities. Tickets at the door with suggested donation. No one turned away for lack of funds. 4904 Fourth St. NW.
Fourth of July: Freedom Fourth put on by the city at Balloon Fiesta Park 3-10pmfree, but parking is $10. Park and Ride from Coronado and Cottonwood malls.
