Thoughts and Ideas 1/30

CONVERSATION Starter

"Rename, Reframe, Recast." The phrase came from a recent radio broadcast of New Dimensions with Dr. Ellen Meredith. Instead of looking at a state of being from the outside in, the interviewee posed looking from the inside out. I connected it to the relabeling of assumptions. Contemplate the concept. Can the concept be used in your art creation? Discuss with more than one person.

Creative Experiment

Take a simple arm movement. The arms move forward, open to the side, lower. A simple port de bras in dance. How many ways can you change meaning and impact while keeping the basic movement. Use energy, timing, dynamic range, gaze, associated movement and so on. Change the meaning by changing the context and environment. Change the perspective by adding focal length, by adding something before or after. Name, rename, reframe, recast. Play.
