Converstation Starter

Auditions. What emotions and memories does the word conjure for you? Some thrive on it, some feel a body betrayal. What about holding an audition? Share your experiences, comical, frustrating, the humor, satisfactions and dissatisfactions from both sides of the table. When conducting the audition, how can you get the best out of your candidates? How else can you find qualified dancers for your work?

Creative Experiment

Create an 8-16 count movement phrase. Invent a list of ridiculous "what could possibly go wrong" scenarios in which you must either perform this phrase or request this phrase to be performed. Role play if you have more than one person. (The skies the limit, use your imagination.) What if this was an audition!

  • Music and Dance: Latin Dance Night Friday at Summertime in Old Town with Son Como Son, 6-9pm
