Converstation Starter
A few extracts from Ruben Ostland as he talked about his ideas on film after his success at the Cannes Film Festival this year - "have an experience together...leave together and say 'what has happened?'... something to talk about..." How do we make choreography that is both entertaining, fun and intellectually provocative? Is humor the salve to deliver difficult content? Any other approaches?
Creative Experiment
After picking a meaningful subject to work with, experiment with these parameters to choreograph or plan a choreography: Reject a clear narrative. Use random or chance-based structures to put together a work. Be absurd. Break the fourth wall.
