Intro to Tango Crash Course at Maple Street

Starting Saturday, September 18th: Intro to Tango Crash Course, 5:15 - 6:15pm, Back Door Studio.
A fun lighthearted intro for beginners to one of the worlds most beautiful (and intimidating) dances: Tango. We will cover fundamental tango principles including musicality, rhythm, & core tango steps, as well as basic know how on how do navigate the tango dance floor.

The 8th Style School of Tango started out in Seattle in 2006 as a two part experiment: to see if it was possible to create a curriculum that would enable a wide range of Tango dancers to be their best, unique selves on the dance floor; and to test the efficacy of peer-to-peer teaching in Tango. The results were extraordinary: over the next several years a team of dedicated Tango teachers developed a program for learning Tango that produced countless excellent dancers all with their own unique style, and it was discovered that advanced beginners would consistently outperform more seasoned teachers in terms of student retention and instilling a lasting passion for Tango.

The school continues to evolve to this day, now based in New Mexico, offering regular group classes in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Taos, and online drills sessions eight times a week, frequented by Tango dancers from the U.S., Europe and even Buenos Aires.
