XenXual class with Gabriel Carrion-Gonzales on 10/5/22

Peer class with Gabriel is Wednesday 10/5 at 6:30pm at Studio Sway. For now, class sizes are limited for COVID-19 safety, so please register the Monday before class through the link in the event on the Peer Class Page.

XenXual has intentions of co-creating a portal towards individuality, body appreciation, new levels of confidence, and sensuality via open-dance styles. This practice is intended to celebrate bodies and shapes made in circle to actively protest forms of movement which attempt to instill a “standard” or any version of “ideal” to dance art forms. Our time together will open with a brief meditation focused on transformation and vulnerability (if class co-creators/attendees are willing). Followed by a brief movement exploration of styles which have inspired confidence in Gabriel’s life experience (Vogue, erotic movement, and ballet—this is an attempt to honor different times of Gabriel’s life); following this class co-creators will be asked to tap into dance styles (or combinations of dance styles) which inspire confidence and sensuality in themselves, creating new movement unique to their body which can be called on after XenXual as a reminder of the power and beauty within.
