Afro-Cuban folkloric

Pilar Leto, Afro-Cuban folkloric dance. This class will focus on the cultural dance and movements for Orishas Ogun: the god of war & metal; and Yemaya: the goddess of the ocean. Ogun dances holding a machete which cuts through the forest to create and open the path. Yemaya dances with a skirt to create the movements of the ocean water. Several skirts will be provided but bring a long, full skirt if you have one.

Frank Leto will provide bata drum and song accompaniment, along with giving a description of the attributes of Ogun and Yemaya.
