Jazz Class with Lorien House on 4/20/22

Peer class with Lorien is Wednesday 4/20 at 6:30pm at Studio Sway. Class sizes are limited to 10 students, so please register to reserve your spot the Monday before class through the link in the event on the Peer Class Page.

Jazz

In these jazz dance classes, we'll start out with a gentle but technical warmup, combining jazz and ballet, and culminating in a jazz-inflected adagio. Optional focuses (musical and/or physical) will be given during the warmup, for those who want to work beyond the set moves. After the warmup, we'll learn a combination: 

  • April 20: Lyrical jazz, focusing on musicality.

  • April 27: Character jazz. Please bring a small-brimmed hat if you can—something you can twirl on your finger (derby, homburg, pork-pie type of thing). It can be one of those cardboard Mardi-gras type hats too. I'll have two available.
