Artist Spotlight: Magnolia Vahey

We are proud to present Magnolia Vahey, this week’s spotlighted artist!

ABQ Dance Connect started an Artist Spotlight Series to feature dancers, movers, and creators in Albuquerque. This series is aimed to introduce and connect artists to their ABQ community. If you are interested in being a part of this series, please email info@abqdanceconnect.org or DM ABQ Dance Connect for more information.

I am Magnolia Vahey//M.V.//Mags//Magno and am thrilled to present myself here, to YOU!

My multi facets include currently being a full-time Human Resources worker for the U.S. Forest Service, a part-time Background Actor, a greeting card maker and giver (“CARDnolia”, of course) and far from least, a Dancer. It is my main squeeze. Dance is how I activate my flux. I dance to stir up stagnancy and illuminate the dark nooks of my being. I dance to shed thoughts, emotions, the clutter of my mind and body. I dance to feel more clearly and better. I dance to intend change. As an art form, Dance is how I communicate ineffables. Dance is also how I decorate presence and simply play with sounds, textures and space. I am inspired by music and I love to be moved by a song.
