Artist Spotlight: Lara Segura

We’re excited to present this week’s spotlighted artist - Lara Segura!

ABQ Dance Connect started an Artist Spotlight Series to feature dancers, movers, and creators in Albuquerque. This series is aimed to introduce and connect artists to their ABQ community. If you are interested in being a part of this series, please email info@abqdanceconnect.org or DM ABQ Dance Connect for more information. Look back at the artists who were featured last year.

Lara Segura (she/her) fell in love with using movement as a form of expression as a small child. This love has carried her through a life journey that has embraced many dance styles, a professional performance career, ongoing educational pursuits, creative curiosities, and curated offerings. She still finds delight in exploring new ways of moving and is ever inspired to make dances with themes rooted in social justice, environmental consciousness, community engagement, human emotion, presence and play. She holds an MFA with an emphasis in Site-Specific Choreography, wherein her passions for nature, movement and human connection meld and occasionally make magic. Lara is honored to serve with many impactful organizations including National Water Dance, Keshet Dance & Center for the Arts, and Albuquerque Dance Connect.
