Julianna Massa (she/her or they/them) (@juliannamassa) is an artist and educator based in Albuquerque, NM. She has performed with artists including Donna Jewell, Kelsey Pascich, Takehiro Ueyama, Miguel Gutierrez, AGA Collaborative, Francesca Harper, Jacqueline Garcia, Lawine Torren, and others. As a dancer, Julianna is interested in reimagining our relationships with one another through shared embodied experiences. Her work centers around the act of witnessing and holding space for the messy, imperfect negotiations that happen when bodies move together in space. In her teaching, Julianna uses somatic and improvisational practices that invite participants to enter spaces as their full selves. Currently, Julianna is working in the Community Engagement department at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and is looking forward to presenting choreography and performance with other interns and staff.
