Musing
Believing you have a unique and valid voice. If six people do the same movement, as in a class exercise or choreography, they look and move the same AND individually distinct all at the same time. If six people write about the same thing, you can see and hear six distinct voices. If you give six people the same set of instructions for an art project you will get six different results. As an observer, reader, listener, depending on the day, you may be drawn to one of the six because that "voice" is calling you. As artist your voice is distinct, individual even when you work on the same piece. Your voice is calling to be seen, heard and felt.
Creative Experiment
Invent blind experiments in original art from the same set of instructions. With a partner or group, but working alone, using three art forms, (i.e drawing, writing, dancing), invent a set of instructions given to each party. Then work alone with the given instructions. Show each other results. Discuss and explore what you learn about your voice. Explore variations of the experiments you used.
