Supporting your peers: Personal admiration is not actually supportive if it is unseen, unheard. Compare the concepts of silent support to the recognized phenomenon of 'silent witness'. Discuss similarities, harm, and methods of change.
Creative Experiment
Find a partner. Each of you make a movement phrase. 1. One of the partners dances internally, focusing entirely on themselves, ignoring their partner, the second partner dances trying to be seen, trying to make contact, by/with the first partner. 2. Trade roles. 3. Dance your phrases seeing and responding to your dance partner. Evaluate and discuss your reactions both mentally and relating to changes in your movement phrase.
