Thoughts and Ideas 5/2

Conversation Starter

The role of Confidence, is it overrated? Should we strive to instill confidence in students? Are there perils and pitfalls? Does confidence lead to success? Does success lead to confidence? Have you seen the confident but less talented, achieve success and wondered? Have you seen the gifted artist with no confidence at the pinnacle of success and wondered, or watched them sabotage success? And what about over-confidence, where can that lead?

Explorative Exercise

Be a poser for five minutes in a dance environment; try on another personality trait, confidence, over confidence, under confidence. Can you? Try describing yourself and your talents and skills with each trait. How does it feel? Discuss.
