Thanksgiving plans. It is human nature to resist change, but what if instead, this Thanksgiving, we embraced the change? Cooking with COVID19 protocol, wearing a mask. Make a video! Dance while cooking. A Pot Luck on wheels? Deliver your traditional offering, pick up someone else's offering left on the porch, creating a connection. Spend time on the phone. Embrace the cold patio by dressing warmly. Make a Thanksgiving pizza on the grill! Warm drinks. Think of symbolic ideas to keep loved ones present. Zoom the meal or preparations if you can. List the positives; you won't run out of chairs! Embrace the change and perhaps you will create your most meaningful and thankful day.
Artist's Toolbox
Appreciation. Make an 8 count movement phrase. Following this, choose; even counts or odd counts, or decide randomly on several counts within the phrase or ignore the count directive. Repeat the movement marveling at the miracle of what you can do with your body, on the counts chosen. How did the feeling manifest in your body? What if you added auditory sound or word to express your feeling on the chosen counts? Discuss the results with someone.
