Artistry in Motion
Get back to what you love with Albuquerque’s and Rio Rancho’s best physical
therapy at Artistry in Motion Physical Therapy & Wellness.“With a PT like Dr. Scott, I could speak in dance terminology, receive dance specific exercises, and was shown empathy towards the lifestyle of a performer. Having the experience of a PT who specializes in performance arts was a valuable and necessary experience. That level of understanding is what sets her therapy apart from others. I highly recommend all performance artists to work with Dr. Scott! It is rare to receive such specialized care in our industry and I am lucky to know such a fantastic physical therapist!”

I was impressed with the thoroughness of Tomas’ assessment of my daughter as it concerned her hip issues. His understanding of the demands on a dancer’s body and how one may work incorrectly to attempt to achieve the unique skills required in dance was refreshing. He was able to help my daughter with a chronic hip issue she had been suffering from for two years in the matter of a few weeks and provided her with exercises to help her maintain the correct muscle engagement. He communicates details about what is happening, what the end goal is, and what each treatment will accomplish. It’s refreshing to have someone to go to who understands and relates to this specialty.

Eva Lipton-Ormand
After our session I was ASTOUNDED at my mobility the next day! So much stable room in all of my joints and such easy access to my musculature. I don’t know if I’ve ever had that much muscular availability after a single treatment of anything. The pelvic half/SI flare up went through a number of ups and downs through the following week, largely I think due to travel weirdness, but the work from your session absolutely set up a foundation for recovery. Thank you thank you, WOW such a help! NRT/Core Synchronism client

Langford Physical Therapy
Helping you return to motion.
You have the potential to feel better, improve your life, and change the way you think about movement and injury. Langford Sports & Physical Therapy is here to guide you every step of the way.
“I love that they do all the work themselves (instead of handing you off to an assistant.) They understand the difference between athletes/dancers and the general population and the different approaches necessary. They beg, borrow, and steal from all types of modalities and encourage their PTs and ATs to keep learning. I also love that they look at the whole body, up and down the kinematic chain, rather than stupidly trying to isolate one body part for treatment.”

Lauren Drake
With a background in dance and a decade in the field of bodywork, I have a constantly ever-evolving working relationship to deep somatic inquiry. My working knowledge of movement and anatomy comes from an embodied place of understanding what it is to be a dancer. The work I do seeks to address both the “hardware” of the physical body and the “software” of the nervous system and the energy field around the body. The manual and energetic forms I employ have been crucial to my own physical alignment and personal evolution, and I am constantly thinking about how helpful they would have been for me when I was a young dancer.

Luz Guillen
La Luz Body Align uses the Pilates method to help an individual obtain control, concentration, centering, flow, precision and breath. As dancers, we tend to become imbalanced in our bodies by the consistent repetitive motions and habit patterns we create in our daily lives. Pilates helps bring balance in body, mind, and spirit, through resistant forces to strengthen and stretch the body to create ease and efficiency in all movement.

About
How it Works
ADC’s healthcare directory is a community-informed resource highlighting practitioners who have experience working with dancers. Providers may submit themselves for inclusion, and community members can also recommend practitioners based on personal experience. The directory grows through shared knowledge and is reviewed to help dancers find care that understands the demands of their work.
If you’re a healthcare practitioner experienced with dancers, or have a provider you’d recommend, we invite you to submit a listing.
