Healing Liberation Dance Gathering

We’d like to invite you to move and heal in solidarity with global kin at the next HEALING & LIBERATORY HEADPHONE DANCE GATHERING — An immersive sonic journey and exploration of collective healing with liberatory music and song from throughout the African & Indigenous diasporas, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

I’m learning from dance mentor, Vincent Martinez-Grieco that when humans gather to dance, we have the opportunity to co-create beneficial medicine for ourselves and for the collective. This gathering is an invitation to movement as resistance, and a joy-filled sonic sanctuary where song and rhythm encourage our bodies to remember and heal, inspired by many of my experiences as an African-Diasporic drummer, music educator and DJ, as well as recent books including, “Pleasure Activism: The Politics of Feeling Good” by adrienne maree brown and “Joyful Militancy” by carla bergman and Nick Montgomery.
