New Mexico Ballet Company’s Choreographers’ Collective is a space for discovery, risk, and artistic growth. Designed to uplift emerging voices, this initiative gives younger and less experienced choreographers the opportunity to step into the creative process, experiment freely, and bring their ideas to life onstage.

What makes this collective especially unique is that many of the choreographers are also performers within the company—artists who understand movement from the inside out and are now expanding their voice beyond it. The result is an evening of work that is fresh, personal, and deeply connected to the dancers themselves.

Audiences can expect an exciting and diverse range of dance perspectives throughout the evening. Each piece offers a distinct choreographic voice, moving fluidly between styles, moods, and physical approaches—from highly athletic and technically driven works to intimate, abstract explorations of movement and emotion. This variety creates a dynamic performance experience where no two pieces feel the same, and each new work opens a different window into what dance can be.

This is more than just a performance—it’s a platform. A place where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is nurtured, and the next generation of choreographic voices begins to take shape.

All proceeds from the Choreographers’ Collective go directly back to the dancers. By attending, audiences are not only supporting new creative work, but also directly investing in the artists bringing it to life. We are deeply grateful for your support—thank you for championing these artists, their work, and the future of dance.
