Giving Form to Your Dance Story, Malinda LaVelle & Emmaly Wiederholt

Malinda LaVelle and Emmaly Wiederholt will be facilitating a dance-theater open class entitled Giving Form to Your Dance Story. Using voice, text, and movement, we will explore our personal dance stories and the narratives we tell ourselves about success and failure.

This is a version of a workshop that Malinda and Emmaly will lead for ODC Theater’s State of Play Festival in San Francisco in August where they will also be presenting their evening-length dance-theater work What The Hell Happened in San Francisco?

Malinda LaVelle is a choreographer, dance/movement therapist, and mental health counselor. Emmaly Wiederholt is a a dance artist and arts journalist. They have been friends since 2008 when they both moved to San Francisco to pursue dance. Their lives have since taken them Albuquerque where they still make dances together.
